Masterarbeit aus dem Jahr 1998 im Fachbereich Theologie - Biblische Theologie, Note: 5 (CH), Universitat Bern (evang. theol. Inst.), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Das sechzehnte Jahrhundert, das der Barockzeit vorausging, war ein Jahrhundert der Blutezeit fur die Erneuerung des Christentums nicht nur in spiritueller, sondern auch in institutioneller Hinsicht. Es war eine Zeit grosser Umbruche im Zusammenhang mit den Veranderungen der Reformation und dadurch auch in innerkatholischem Bereich. Damals tauchten viele spirituell bedeutsame Persoenlichkeiten auf, die auf die Erneuerung Einfluss nahmen. Neben der spanischen Zeit von Teresia v. Avila (1515 - 1582) und Johannes vom Kreuz (1542 - 1591) war auch die deutsche Epoche besonders fur die spirituelle Erneuerung ausschlaggebend. Die protestantische Mystik entstand im Gefolge von Martin Luther (1483 - 1546). Es folgten ihm Caspar Schwenckfeld (1489 - 1561), Thomas Muntzer (1490 - 1525), Sebastian Franck (1499 - 1542), Johann Arndt (1555 - 1621), Jakob Boehme (1575 - 1624) und Angelus Silesius (1624 - 1677), u.a. . Ich widme diese Arbeit dem grossen, protestantischen, mystischen Schriftsteller Valentin Weigel (1533 - 1588). Er gab der noerdlichen, protestantischen Mystik ihre originelle Farbe. Die Ausdrucksweise dieser besonderen Mystik ist mehr als nur ein Phanomen der Froemmigkeitsgeschichte. Spiritualitat steht nicht abseits der sogenannten strengen bzw. wissenschaftlichen Theologie, sondern ist zentral, sowohl theoretisch wie geistesgeschichtlich. Wenn sich Theologie nicht mehr mit der Erfahrung Gottes und den Wegen dazu befassen will, wird sie zur blossen Anthropologie.
