Im Rahmen der vorliegenden Hausarbeit soll dieser Frage nachgegangen werden. Auf Grundlage eines kurzen UEberblicks uber die historische und literarische Perspektive zur antiken Sklaverei soll Senecas epist. 47 selbst im Fokus der Betrachtungen stehen. Im Rahmen einer Interpretation der betreffenden Stelle soll zum einen der persuasive Gedankengang Senecas nachvollzogen, zum anderen das sich daraus ergebene Menschenbild analysiert werden. Mit Ruckgriff auf die Analyseergebnisse wird abschliessend die eingangs genannte Kritik Bradleys wiederaufgegriffen und auf ihre Berechtigung hin untersucht.
