Wie wirkte sich das Exil auf ihr schriftstellerisches Wirken aus; welche Bedeutung hat Anna Seghers fur die deutsche Exilliteratur zwischen 1933 und 1945? Und warum wurde Das siebte Kreuz so ein Welterfolg? Zur Beantwortung dieser Fragen empfiehlt es sich, zunachst mit einer Biographie der Autorin Anna Seghers zu beginnen. Dabei sollen vor allem die Umstande ihrer Flucht und ihr Leben und Schaffen im spateren Exil genauer betrachtet werden. Der zweite Teil der Arbeit wird sich mit dem Werk Das siebte Kreuz befassen. Dabei soll sowohl auf moegliche historische Bezuge eingegangen werden als auch auf den Inhalt und stilistische Besonderheiten der Autorin. Ausserdem soll anhand der Wirkung des Buches versucht werden, eine Erklarung fur den Welterfolg zu finden. Die Quellenlage fur dieses Thema gestaltet sich sehr ausfuhrlich und vielfaltig: Als Primarliteratur wurde Das siebte Kreuz von Anna Seghers verwendet, als Sekundarliteratur boten sich Bucher wie beispielsweise Das siebte Kreuz. Erlauterungen - Interpretationen - Materialien. Hinweise zum Unterricht von Michael Zimmer an. Als Internetquellen wurde unter anderem die Seite der Universitat Potsdam genutzt und ein Artikel von privaten Website, der aber auch in einer Fachzeitschrift fur Literatur publiziert wurde. Ich verstand, dass es nichts gab, was man nicht schreiben kann. Dieses Zitat stammt von Anna Seghers, einer der wichtigsten und wohl bekanntesten deutschen Autorinnen. Sie war eine der vielen Schriftsteller und Schriftstellerinnen, die mit dem Aufstieg des Nationalsozialismus gezwungen waren, zu emigrieren.
