In het kwalificatiedossier wordt de kennis beschreven die apothekersassistenten moeten hebben over het bereiden van alle toedieningsvormen. Met die kennis kunnen zij voorlichting en advies aan clienten geven. In het keuzedeel gaat het om de daadwerkelijke uitvoering van bereiden en aseptisch handelen. Alhoewel het aantal apotheken dat zelf bereidt afneemt, blijft er ook in de toekomst behoefte aan gekwalificeerde en ervaren bereidende apothekersassistenten. Apothekersassistenten met een certificaat op het gebied van bereiden zijn breder inzetbaar en vergroten daarmee hun kansen op de arbeidsmarkt. Dit boek is een herziening van het boek Productzorg - Bereiden in de apotheek (4e druk) en sluit aan op het Keuzedeel mbo Bereiden en aseptische handelingen. Het bereiden van geneesmiddelen in de apotheek is arbeidsintensief werk en moet voldoen aan strenge kwaliteitsnormen. Met dit boek leren studenten en beginnende beroepsbeoefenaren zorgvuldig en hygienisch bereiden volgens de nieuwste FNA- en LNA-procedures. De actuele kennis over de verschillende bereidingsvormen is in dit boek bijeengebracht. Bereiden en aseptisch handelen (1e druk) is een basiswerk voor studenten die zich willen verdiepen in het bereiden van geneesmiddelen. Ook kan het boek uitstekend als naslagwerk in de praktijk worden gebruikt. Yvonne Groot-Padberg studeerde farmacie in Amsterdam. Na het behalen van haar apothekersdiploma in 1988 is zij werkzaam geweest in de farmaceutische industrie als productontwikkelaar en farmaceutisch projectleider. Sinds 2002 is zij werkzaam in het mbo-onderwijs, waar zij naast haar werk als teamleider lessen in productzorg verzorgt.
