      Great value - high quality controler.

      Well known trailer parts brand with years of experience to rely upon, unit has progressive brake proportioning and very simple installation requirements. This unit is safer to operate (varies the braking required as needed) but also puts less strain on the caravan brakes which results in less caravan brake maintenance. The compact size of the control unit and simple remote switch set up makes it easy to position and use, and the price make it very good value compared to others.

      Get the lot

      Get the set with the wiring harness, makes life so much easier. installed my self following the instructions. The wiring harness is long enough for an F250. Hardess part was getting the single part of the wiring loom through the firewall (had to modify and existing entry. Lots of cable available for inside the cab so had lots of choice where to place the controller. wanted to be able to easily inspect it so mounted it of the trans tunnel - easy to get facing the right way and level.

      Harnesses Cost to much and in most cases you damn well do not need them

      The Problem with this product is the fact their installation videos all show how to connect using their damn expensive Harnesses they are over priced do not suit all vehicles any one with some electrical knowledge knows this. Next Problem the Compact IQ i purchased does NOT show which way the variable potentionter Faces which side is up or which side is Down. This can cause a catasphory as the Break levels are based on the turn cycle of the pot so you could believe you are in BO or B1 when you actually could be on full boost Other than that i still have to install and test.       Hayman Reese Compact IQ Brake controller

      Very compact unit - has all the next generation features and is priced very well, but big problem mounting the remote dial. Modern vehicle dash boards are very thick and the remote does not have enough length to be fitted. Had to fabricate a tophat section to make it work and that blew the fitment from easy DIY to very involved fabrication. A simple 50c plastic top hat would have solved the problem for everyone. Otherwise, an excellent unit on a par with my Tekonsha P3.

      Small improvement would make it easier to install

      Although I am happy with the product I feel it would have been a whole lot easier to install if the associated electrical connection for the wiring was included to match the OEM connector along with associated terminals as I had to retrofit to cut in a different male/female connector. First run with the caravan yesterday and the unit performed to a good standard.
