Gernot Hinterleitner und Philipp Hornung verbinden uber ein wirtschaftswissenschaftliches Experiment zwei Gebiete der Finanzmarktforschung. Zuerst wird die Marktqualitat unterschiedlicher Handelsformen analysiert, anschliessend wird der Insiderhandel innerhalb dieser Marktformen betrachtet. Die Autoren zeigen, dass eine Eroeffnungsauktion die Informationseffizienz des Eroeffnungspreises gegenuber einer ausschliesslich kontinuierlichen Auktion signifikant erhoeht. Ein positiver Spillover Effect erzeugt hierbei auch eine hoehere Marktqualitat. Das Verhalten von Kapitalmarktteilnehmern mit Insiderinformation verdeutlicht, dass Insider auch bei Konkurrenz untereinander ihre Auftrage moeglichst unauffallig platzieren. Zusatzlich werden geschlechtsspezifische Unterschiede sichtbar, wenn das Risiko der Aufdeckung abgeschatzt wird.
