These combined elements help propel the grandiose "Because You Loved Me," among the biggest pure pop hits of early 1996. Dion also manages to achieve a certain level of soul, particularly on "Make You Happy," a slow, funky number with a catchy chorus. But "Declaration of Love" perhaps sums up the singer's style best: upbeat, up front, not quite rockin' but not wimpy either. She's a singer with a big, soaring soprano and a real knack for her chosen genre. Her fans won't be disappointed with this effort.
