      Superb movie of the year

      A three hour, R rated adult drama released in the U.S. summer that actually succeeds is extraordinary, and not just succeed, but to go on and gross $US930 million worldwide is literally unheard of. Especially when it is an autobiography. Then you add in an amazing 3 hrs and 39 minutes of additional material on the bluray, and it gets even better. Amongst other stuff, there’s a 90 minute doco on the man which is worth the price of the thing just by itself. Add in a fascinating feature on black and white film, plus 6 excellent bits on how the movie was made, and you’ve got the best bargain going. It just goes to show that audiences will turn out in droves for an ‘original’ story (this and Barbie), rather than attend another overdone, tasteless CGI franchise movie.

      APPROPRIATE tells the story

      It has importance because it is part of our world war history, which was amazing, but the consequences were terrible. But it was a weapon which ended WW2 and even now world leaders are reminded of what happens when weapons such as these are unleashed. Well produced well-acted.

      Good docudrama, too bad it is not fully factual.

      Probably the best movie of 2023 put out and favored by the movie industry. One star deducted because this movie is partially fictionalized, as admitted in the end credits. The problem is that one does not know which parts are fictionalized and which are not. So I have to look at the movie as entertainment and not an authentic biography of the man and his times. I hope that with time, someone does an authentic review, telling which parts are real and which are fictional.

      Classic film

      It is a really great movie and it is good to be able to watch it more than once. I also switched on subtitles as the dialogue was not always clear to me. It was good to organise the movie in a way that suited me. In a few days, I will look at the second disc - a bonus to the film that came with the DVD.
