Two opposing drawers accent the woodgrain rather than offer a cushioned insert for the pieces. Pieces are carved and stained uniformly and provided in plastic zip-lock bags which is better than nothing but not ideal presentation as a gift. Non-magnetic checkers pieces are a nice bonus but a lining in the drawers or cloth bags for the pieces might be better.
