    As good as the original but not meant to last as the internals break. I have not found carefree awnings to last.

    This product was sent in good time. This item is as good as the original but the third one I have replaced in 6 years. Frankly, I think with majority of parts made of aluminum, its not meant to last. I wish there was a stainless steel version which would last the life of the van. There is only a small internal piece that breaks.

    Good replacement handle

    This handle is a well made replacement for the original handle on my Carefree awning. The awning is about 10 years old and has been on 2 or 3 trips per year. However, the fact that I needed replacements indicates a weakness in the manufacture. This relates to the moving pin which engages in the holes in the support stay. The pin in made of aluminium alloy and the previous ones broke making the awning impossible to use. I think the pins should last for more than the approximate 100 uses of the awning. If the pins were made of steel they would be much more durable.
