It doesn’t hold a vacuum very well at all though I’ve managed to improve it a lot by smoothing the rim and wiping the Tim and the silicone seal with olive oil. It would be next to useless otherwise. The idea is great just poorly implemented. I’m confident that I’ll be able to get it to work properly but it should have been delivered working. Delonghi no longer sell these and that’s probably the reason why,
