For anyone interested; I replaced a petrol outboard motor with the 45lb thrust electric model - the electric gives just a fraction below the performance of the 4 stroke 2.5hp motor in terms of top end speed on our inflatable dingy. If starting from scratch you may also like to purchase: ~100Ah (2 hrs run time?) battery + leads, Anderson plug (weather proof) connectors, battery isolator and inline fuse, and a small solar panel to charge the battery.
