Dieses Buch bietet eine umfassende und dennoch pragnante Darstellung der Rechenmethoden des Leichtbaus im Rahmen der Statik der Stab- und Balkentragwerke und ist in vier Abschnitte unterteilt. Ausgehend von ganz allgemeinen Ausfuhrungen zu den Grundlagen der Elastizitatstheorie werden im ersten Abschnitt ausserdem ebene Probleme sowie Festigkeitskriterien isotroper Materialien angesprochen. Der zweite Abschnitt ist der analytischen Behandlung der Statik der Stab- und Balkentragwerke gewidmet, wobei hier Balken unter Biegung, Querkraft und Torsion angesprochen werden. Der dritte Abschnitt behandelt die Arbeits- und Energiemethoden im Leichtbau und spannt den Bogen zwischen klassischen Methoden und modernen Rechenverfahren wie der Finite-Elemente-Methode. Im vierten Abschnitt schliesslich wird auf weiterfuhrende Stab- und Balkenmodelle eingegangen, wobei neben Schubfeldtragern und schubweichen Balken auch hybride Strukturen sowie Laminat- und Sandwichtrager besprochen werden. Dieses Buch richtet sich an Studierende an Fachhochschulen und Universitaten, aber auch an Ingenieurinnen und Ingenieure in der Praxis sowie an Forscherinnen und Forscher der Ingenieurwissenschaften.
